Anglican Wedding Blessings
We are delighted to offer Anglican Wedding Blessing services for couples seeking a sacred and prayerful celebration of their love on the Costa Del Sol.
As we are based outside the UK, we offer a Wedding Blessing rather than a legally binding marriage service. The blessing closely follows the Anglican wedding service used in the UK, with prayers, vows, scripture, the blessing of your union, and signing of the register. However, it must be preceded by a legal marriage. Most couples choose to complete their legal ceremony either in the UK or in Gibraltar before celebrating their blessing with us.
Our chaplain can officiate wedding blessings in a range of settings — from outdoor and private venues to other locations meaningful to you. Church based blessings are of course also possible, though subject to shorter booking times.
Each service is thoughtfully prepared, prayerful, and rooted in the Anglican tradition.

Although that we rent space within Catholic churches, couples and guests sometimes assume the service is Catholic. We would like to confirm that all wedding blessings conducted by our chaplain are Anglican services in English.

Wedding Blessing fee: €500 (If your wedding is at the church in San Pedro, there is an additional €200 payable to the Catholic diocese for church hire)
Deposit required to secure your date: €200 (non-refundable)

The remaining balance is payable 1 week before the date of the service.

Is this a legal marriage?
No. As we are based outside the UK, we offer a Wedding Blessing rather than a legally binding marriage service. Couples must complete a legal marriage separately, most commonly in the UK or in Gibraltar.
What is the difference between a wedding blessing and a wedding service?
A wedding blessing closely follows the Anglican wedding service used in the UK, including vows, prayers, scripture readings, the blessing of your union and signing of the register. The only difference is that the chaplain does not marry the couple legally.
Do I still get a certificate?
Yes. You still sign the register, always a special moment for photographs, and are issued with a wedding blessing certificate.
Is the service Anglican or Catholic?
All wedding blessings conducted by our chaplain are Anglican services.
As we rent space within Catholic churches in San Pedro and Sotogrande, this can sometimes cause confusion, but the service itself is Anglican.
Do you offer wedding blessings for same-sex couples?
In our chaplaincy, we believe that love between two people is sacred, but unfortunately due to a general synod ruling within the Anglican church, we are no longer allowed to bless same sex weddings. We can only offer special prayers for your marriage within an existing Eucharist.

Can I use confetti ?
The churches that we rent have asked us for environmental reasons not to use confetti. We would suggest bubbles as a fun and joyful alternative. If you choose another venue then it would be wise to check their confetti policy.
How much does a wedding blessing cost?
The cost of a wedding blessing is €500.
A €200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date, with the remaining balance payable before the service.
*An additional €200 is required by the Catholic diocese to pay for the church.
