10% of all our income goes to support the following charities.
So they each receive about 750€ per year from
the Chaplaincy
The
Chaplaincy Council reviews the list of charities at its first meeting in the
new year
Normally
each Chaplaincy magazine features at least one of the charities
CARITAS |
The Catholic Church's official organization in Spain for charity and social relief |
EMAUS |
A local charity (in Estepona) providing a
food bank to those without sufficient funds to feed their families. |
COLLECTIVE CALLING |
A local charity run by Paul and Gemma Carr,
who have been members of our Chaplaincy, who are working with
people with disabilities in Tanzania and the homeless and refugees
on the Costa del Sol. (see picture on left) |
ASPANDEM |
meeting the needs of mentally challenged children.
Located in San Pedro, just south of the church where we worship. |
LITTLE SISTERS OF
THE POOR |
A global Catholic Charity which provides
social care in many places. We focus on their work in care for
the elderly in Ronda in Spain, and have had an away-day with them in
2018. |
HELPING |
A charity run partially by David and Kaye
Bowerman, who attend our Chaplaincy, which has been building
classrooms and providing education needs in Gambia |
MERCY SHIPS |
Providing medical needs to places where
often medical help is not available, normally in Africa |
CUDECA |
A hospice movement, running in Fuengirola,
caring for the terminally ill. |
